Print Details & Features
What is a fine art print?
Fine Art Prints on Paper: Premium ultra-high resolution prints on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Paper showcase brilliant colors and deep blacks with a sophisticated matte finish. A combination of a ultra-high resolution 9 color print using Epson UltraChrome Pro pigments and a soft, 100% cotton surface with heavy weight define this museum quality print.
An elegant white border allows for easy framing and prints arrive within an archival mylar sleeve for easy storage until framing.
Fine Art Prints on Metal: These premium prints are produced through a modern dye-sublimation printing process which infuses ink into the metal through a heat transfer process. Chromaluxe aluminum is thick and tear-proof and the print features some water resistance, scratch resistance and is finished with a UV coating. These protections, in addition to the benefits of dye-sublimation printing, allow for a long life expectancy with image stability that is 2 to 4 times longer than traditional silver based photo papers.
Metal prints are wall ready with an attached metal inset frame which allows the print to float off the wall, revealing the sleek thin silhouette of the metal. Includes a french cleat that is easy to install; no additional frame is needed.
*Some metal prints are offered in a Silver Gloss Finish - see below for more info on these special edition prints (What are the available finishes for my metal print?).
What is included with the print?
Each print is an original work of art, signed and numbered in limited editions by Raymond Bonavida. Both metal and paper prints include a signed Certificate of Authenticity that is specific to the print.
Paper Prints are sold as the print only. An elegant white border allows for easy framing and prints arrive within an archival mylar sleeve for easy storage until framing.
Metal Prints are wall ready with an attached metal inset frame which allows the print to float off the wall, revealing the sleek thin silhouette of the metal. Includes a french cleat that is easy to install; no additional frame is needed.
Does my print require framing?
Paper Prints are sold without a frame or hanging hardware. An elegant white border allows for easy framing and prints arrive within an archival mylar sleeve for easy storage until framing. *Please inquire for possible framing options.
Metal Prints are wall ready with an attached metal inset frame which allows the print to float off the wall, revealing the sleek thin silhouette of the metal. Includes a french cleat that is easy to install; no additional frame is needed.
How do I hang my metal print?
Metal prints arrive wall-ready, and there are several options for hanging:
Best Option: Install the included french cleat using the provided screws and anchors. For wider prints use two cleats.
Option 2. Hang the installed inset frame directly over two well-secured weight bearing screws or nails.
Option 3. A wire hanger can be requested to be attached to the back of the frame, then used to hang over one or two (depending on the size of the print) well-secured weight bearing screws or nails.
*Despite being relatively lightweight, it is very important to take safety precautions just as you would when hanging any artwork.
What are the available print finishes for my metal print?
Metal prints may be available in these different finishes:
White Matte prints have minimal glare and reflections. Select this elegant finish for a traditional experience on metal.
Silver Gloss prints are highly reflective with unique dynamics as light reflects off the brushed silver surface of the metal when illuminated. The aluminum of silver prints shines through the lighter areas of the printed photograph creating a heightened metallic visual experience. In a silver gloss finish, the light areas of the photograph will appear metallic.
Gloss prints have a high gloss, high depth finish.
Matte prints have a flat finish with minimal glare or reflections.
How should I consider lighting and placement for my metal print?
Metal prints have unique light dynamics which are best installed with some lighting considerations: First, consider whether your print finish is White or Silver?
If the finish is White, then simply consider lighting as with any artwork.
If the finish is Silver, then consider the special qualities of the medium. Silver prints have unique reflective properties that handle light differently depending on the angle of illumination and the location of the observer. The illumination changes as the observer moves position. From certain angles, silver prints appear muted or dim, while from other angles the silver glows in vivid color as the light reflects off the aluminum surface. Experiment with multiple light sources and different light angles for varied experiences interacting with the artwork.
*To determine the finish of your print, refer to the Certificate of Authenticity (enclosed). All prints are intended for interior placement as they will start to fade in the sun after prolonged exposure.
What is a limited edition print?
Prints in a limited edition have a set number of prints that are offered in a specific size and finish. Once sold, an edition will be permanently closed and no more prints of that edition will be produced.
For example, a limited edition 24"x36" 'Golden Gate Lights' print on metal with a matte finish will only have 10 prints in the edition. Once sold, this edition (this combination of finish and size) will be closed and will not be available for purchase.
There are two numbers which will appear on your print and on the Certificate of Authenticity: the unique number of the print and the size of the entire print run for that edition. For example, if you own a print marked 7/10, then you own the 7th print in a limited print run of 10 for that edition.
For each edition there are approximately 1-3 artist proofs produced with the edition (please see your certificate of authenticity for details). For example, in an edition of 10, there may be 10 prints plus 3 artist proofs.
*Once sold, an edition is permanently closed and will no longer be available.

Handling & Care of Prints
How do I care for my Paper Print?
While Hahnemühle Photo Rag Paper is archival, its fine, soft surface makes it vulnerable to damage, wear and dust. Follow these recommendations for maximum longevity and image stabilization:
Handling
Hahnemühle Photo Rag Paper is extraordinarly beautiful but also quite sensitive. Do not touch the image area. It's best to hold the print by the back or the border edges to avoid leaving fingerprints or scuffs on the surface of the print. Do not bend or fold the print, and do not stack anything on top of it (even paper can scratch the velvety surface of the print). For maximum protection againt dust, moisture and other wear and tear, it is recommended to keep your paper print inside the included mylar bag until it is framed properly.
Cleaning
The best way to keep your paper print clean is to keep it inside the included mylar sleeve until it is framed properly. Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper prints should never be brushed or wiped, and should never come into contact with moisture. If needed, your print may be air dusted with a gentle air blower.
*Avoid direct sunlight
How do I care for my Metal Print?
While these aluminum prints are high quality and durable, proper handling is extremely important to avoid damage and minimize wear. Follow these recommendations for maximum longevity:
Handling
Handle gently; be careful to avoid bending, denting or crushing the metal. It is best to hold the print by the mount to avoid causing wear to the edges. Do not lean a print or have it stand on its edge, as this can lead to chipping.
Cleaning
Use a soft, lint-free and non-scratching cloth to dust or clean your print. Apply a small amount of water or a mild non-ammonia based window cleaner if needed. Apply minimal pressure to the print when cleaning as to not damage the metal.
*Avoid direct sunlight
